These terms cover the jaque software, the packages and archives published at pkgs.jaque.sh, the container image and the Helm chart, and the jaque.sh site itself. They are published by Parsecode Labs, S.L. ("we"). Until that company is registered, its founder, Marcos Benedicto, publishes them in its place.

1. The software

jaque is free software under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3. The full text is in the LICENSE file at the root of the source repository and in every archive. Your rights to run, study, change and redistribute jaque come from that licence and from nothing on this page; where this page and the licence disagree, the licence wins.

The licence carries its own terms on warranty and liability, in its sections 15 and 16. This page restates them in plainer words and adds nothing to them.

2. No warranty

jaque is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it is free of defects, that it fits any particular purpose, that it will run without interruption, or that it will detect every failure in what it monitors.

A monitoring engine that misses a failure, reports one that did not happen, or sends a notification late or not at all can lead to real loss. You decide whether jaque is fit for the systems you point it at, and you keep whatever other safeguards those systems need.

3. No liability

To the extent the law allows, neither we nor any contributor is liable to you for any damage that arises from using or being unable to use jaque, its packages or this site. That covers direct, indirect, incidental and consequential damage, lost data, lost revenue and business interruption, whether the claim is in contract, tort or any other theory, and whether or not we were told such damage was possible.

Where the law does not allow liability to be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for jaque, which is nothing.

4. The packages, the image and the site

The package repositories, the container image, the chart and this site are offered as a convenience. We may change, move or stop publishing any of them without notice. Nothing here is a service level commitment. Every release is signed; verifying the signature before you install is described on the install page.

5. Third-party software

jaque runs plugins you supply, connects to services you configure and sends notifications through providers you choose. Each of those is governed by its own terms, and we answer for none of them.

6. Trademarks

"jaque" and the rook mark identify this project. Nagios, Icinga, Checkmk, Thruk, Slack, PagerDuty, Telegram and the other names on this site belong to their owners, and naming them here does not claim any relationship with them.

7. Contributions

Contributions to the source are accepted under the contributor licence agreement in CLA.md at the root of the repository.

8. Changes and law

We may change these terms; the version on this page is the one in force, and the source repository keeps the history. These terms are governed by the law of Spain. Any dispute is heard by the courts of Madrid, unless the law gives you the right to be heard elsewhere.

Questions about these terms go to [email protected].
